Trackdays FAQs

What type of vehicle do I need for a Trackday?

Bikes

Any motorcycle over 400cc can be used on a trackday, but it must meet the following standards:

Road Bikes – Must conform to MOT minimum standards for road use.

Track & Race Bikes – Should comply with the safety regulations set by the governing body.

General Condition – All bikes must be well-maintained, safe, and suitable for track use. It’s your responsibility to ensure your motorcycle remains in this condition for the entire event.

Rear Brake Light – If your bike has one, it must be in full working order.

Check your bike before arriving to make sure it’s ready for the start of your tracktime.

Cars

Road Cars – Your vehicle must meet MOT minimum standards for road use or comply with MSA current safety regulations for track cars. It should be in good mechanical and body condition and fit for purpose on track.

Seatbelts – All cars, regardless of age, must have working seatbelts.

Ongoing Maintenance – It’s your responsibility to ensure your car remains in a safe and roadworthy condition throughout the event, in the interest of your safety and that of others on track.

Open-Wheel & Single-Seaters – These vehicles are not permitted on car trackdays.

How old do I have to be?

The minimum age is 17 years old.

Which session should I book into?

Bikes

Your choice of trackday depends on your experience level and the type of session you’re looking for:

  • Bike Trackdays (Group Sessions) – Riders are grouped by ability (Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced) to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Select the group that matches your skill level, and you’ll ride in structured 20-minute sessions throughout the day.
  • Choose the Right Group for You:

Novice – Perfect for first-time track riders, newcomers, or those with limited track experience. We recommend completing at least three novice track days before moving up.

Intermediate – Ideal for more experienced road or track riders with at least four track days under their belt. You should be comfortable with a faster, flowing pace.

Advanced – Designed for seasoned track riders and race licence holders (SACU/ACU). Expect higher speeds and a more competitive pace.

  • Bike Trackdays (Open Pitlane) – Designed for experienced track riders who want maximum flexibility. No fixed sessions mean you can ride whenever you choose, allowing for longer, uninterrupted track time.
  • Newcomers Bike Trackdays – Aimed at those with little or no track experience. Features additional support, a relaxed pace, and a focus on building confidence and skills.

If you're not sure which group or session is right for you, feel free to contact us for guidance.

Cars

Choosing the right trackday session depends on your experience level and what you want from the event:

  • Newcomers Car Tracknight – Ideal for those new to trackdays or with limited experience (three or fewer previous trackdays). Fewer cars on track and extra support from our team help you build confidence and skills.
  • Car Trackdays (Open Pitlane) – Perfect for both drivers with previous track experience who want maximum track time and new to track drivers. No fixed sessions mean you can take to the track whenever you’re ready.
  • Supercar & Hypercar Trackday – A dedicated session exclusively for high-performance supercars and hypercars. Limited spaces ensure an exclusive, premium experience.

If you're unsure which session suits you best, get in touch, and we’ll be happy to help.
