The Kwik Fit British Touring Cars at Knockhill is one of our quality headline events of our season. It will see top teams and drivers from the UK and abroad compete for two days over the twists, dips and turns of Knockhill, often on two wheels! Exhilarating racing action is guaranteed - with practice, qualifying and 15 races to entertain and enthral over the weekend of 14th to 15th August 2021.
The unique nature of the Knockhill track promotes the closest racing of the season with cars often airborne as they attack the famous Duffus Dip and Blackcircles Chicane. This year, top drivers such as Turkington, Butcher, Sutton, Shedden and Ingram will battle it out over 72 laps around Knockhill - split into three highly-charged BTCC races on the main race day (Sunday)
Here’s how the weekend pans out - Action starts early on Saturday 14th August with warm up sessions for all classes before the fast and furious qualifying as the BTCC competitors chase the last 1/100th of a second to snatch pole position from their rivals. Saturday afternoon continues with support races but the undoubted highlight is watching a packed track of BTCC cars scrabbling to find that gap to set their ultimate lap in qualifying. Some drivers nail their lap, some over-cooking it due to the unique pressure of driving Knockhill which always throws up a mixed up grid.
On Sunday 15th August (the main feature race day) it's another action-packed day for you as it features exhilarating hard charging support class racing and three feature races for the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Come for the weekend or just come for the main event day, the choice is yours but what you are in for is the best of British motorsport, if not some of the best motorsport in the world, all at one of the best spectator viewing circuits in the UK!
